Notes:

Could easily be mistaken for an old, rotting Leccinum or Boletus edulis, but hard to the touch when these would be soft and slimy.

Peridium with characteristic blue-black patches.

Height: 17cm.

Spores spherical, pale brown under microscope, but ornament has been largely lost. (The gleba has been entirely eaten so only frass remains.)
