Notes:

Caps: dry, bright red, with thin black-tinged coating.

Taste: not bitter when licked.

Cap cuticle: clamped, with granular masses which apparently relate to the blacking coating.

Spores: 7.5-9.5/4.5-5.5µm., oblong to amygdaliform or slightly phaseoliform.
