Notes (MWS) A common bracket fungus that grows on the wood of various broadleaved trees, but especially *Alnus glutinosus*, *Salix* and *Fagus* particularly in damp places. It is recognised by the +/- semicircular pileus with the attachment narrower than the widest diameter.
