Further Information

Notes (MWS) The toadstool-like brackets of this fungal pathogen are a familiar sight at the base of Pine (*Pinus*) trees, although it attacks a broad range of coniferous and rarely broadleaved trees. It causes a brown rot, particularly at the base of the trunk (butt rot) which makes the tree unsafe.
