Notes:

Apothecium 30mm diam., scurfy on outside and with flakes along the margin.

Paraphyses hyaline, with one or two branches below, cylindric, swollen towards apex to capitate, or tips lobed to shortly branched or "hammer-headed", tips agglutinated.

Ascospores: ellipsoid, with two large oil drops, up to 22-23/13µm in the ascus.

Asci: 8-spored. Tip not blued in Melzer’s Iodine.
