| Identification Notes: |
Fruitbody: smoke grey, patchily stained sienna, fulvous or snuff brown where it has got wet; black in KOH. Margin: whitish, radially fibrillose. Microscopically, the surface is white (perhaps v. pale pink) with abundant projecting reddish brown setae which give the fungus its colour macroscopically. Spores: not seen. Setae: thick-walled, hollow, often sinuate, base curved, forked, black in KOH. Context hyphae: sienna, without setae, thick-walled, septate, not clamped. |
