Notes:

Conidia: dark brown, smooth, mainly two-celled, with thick cross-wall between the cells, ellipsoid to fusiform, occasionally waisted.

Conidiophores: dark brown, septate with thick cross-walls like the conidia, branched.

The host seems unaffected and continues to sporulate freely.

At time of collection, there were a few perithecial initials on the stipe. These were allowed to develop over 8 days and photographed on 5th November.

Perithecia: blackish-brown, globose to acuminate, with short radiating brownish hairs with paler tips, loosely attached.

Asci: 8-spored, apical apparatus unchanged in Melzer’s Iodine.

Ascospores: grey. aseptate, ellipsoid-fusiform, 11-14/5µm.
