Conidia on top surface, cleistothecia below; cleistothecia falling off and catching in spiders’ webs.

Cleistothecia: with skirt of upward pointing hyaline hairs with tips doubly bifurcate, the final divisions curling backwards; with 5-8 asci containing 8 spores.
