A handsome large ichneumon.

The female is mainly black with an ivory scutellum, reddish tergite 2 and narrow ivory bands on the tips of all tergites; the antennae are black with a broad orange merging to ivory band. The legs are extensively orange. It could be confused with the male of Ctenichneumon panzeri.
