Notes:

Body length: 7.1mm; flagellomeres: 27+27, F2 L/B: 2.2, pale brown tyloids on F10-13.

Keys to Cubocephalus speratus but it isn’t this.

Martin Schwarz says "Today I struggled with your male, but unfortunately I haven’t found a specimen in my collection agreeing with your specimen. Am I right that the metasomal tergites are not granulated? In Cubocephalus they are granulated, so it doesn’t seem to be Cubocephalus. If the metasomal tergites are not granulated it is probably Aptesis. First I thought it could be also Polytribax because of the coloration of the head and the thickened ventral margin of the clypeus medially, but there is no match in some other characters.

Although it seemed rather easy to identify your specimen I have no real idea yet what it is."

T2 is weakly granulated, more strongly so basally; T3 onwards is very weakly granulated, i.e. there is surface microsculpture but it’s fairly shiny too cos the spaces between the microsculpture network are shiny.
