Morchella elata sensu Phillips 2006 Fr., 1822 (a morel)

Notes (MWS) This is the morel with the parabolic to conical cap, with vertical ribs and stipe narrower than the cap so there is a band of sterile tissue between the stipe apex and the start of the hymenium. The cap is usually dark brown.
