Notes:

A specimen with strongly contorted cap. Microscopic examination of a gill fragment squash prep in Phloxine failed to reveal any heterobasidiomycete basidia, nor any anomalous spores (except a few Boletoid contaminants). So unusual shape seems to be a growth form, not parasitism.

Basidia: 4-spored.

Spores: spherical, densely echinate.
