Coprinus Pers., 1797 (inkcaps)

Date: 24 May 1974
OS grid ref: SE33
Lat/Lon: 53° 50' N, 1° 20' W
Location: Vice County: Mid-west Yorkshire, VC64, England
Stage or state: Fruitbody
Record Summary: Young inkcap with ozonium state, on fallen oak log
Associated organism: on fallen log of Quercus
Identification Notes: This one's a bit of puzzle!

The ozonium state is generally associated with Coprinus of the domesticus/radians group (and maybe also C. micaceus), but this fruitbody is clearly neither of these and looks closer to C.lagopus.

May be their proximity is coincidental.
