Notes:

Stipe: tapered downwards, rooting.

Gills: anastomosing towards stipe, reddening when damaged.

NH4OH: flushing pinkish, dark parts turn redder.

Spores: broadly ellipsoid, 7-9/4.5-5µm. (This is larger than Watling 1970, but falls within the broader P. filamentosus sensu Hansen & Knudsen: Nordic Macromycetes II)
