A small reddish or orange 'waxcap' with a dry squamulose or tomentose cap and pale decurrent gills. The toadstool is common and widespread occurring in troops in grassland and also on fixed dunes, in woods, in Alder (*Alnus*) carr and occasionally in Sphagnum bogs. |
