Hygrocybe spadicea (Scop.) P. Karst., 1879 (Date Waxcap)
| Notes (MWS) |
A very rare and distinctive waxcap with a date brown cap and yellow gills. It grows in unfertilised grassland often on the sunniest south-facing slopes, or in sites with exposed limestone. It had a very good year in 2006, fruiting after several years' absence at most of its historic sites and appearing at several new ones. |
