| Identification Notes: |
Infection causes bright orange patches, deepening to red, on the upperside of the leaflet, with blackish necrotic spots above the hypophyllous sori. The leaf underside turns dirty yellow. Finally the leaflet falls.
Punctiform sori scattered over leaf underside and not confined to the discoloured areas.
Urdeospores: abundant, 28-40/19-22µm, clavate to spheropedunculate, with punctate walls. Telia: with two round cells and long persistent pedicels; mixed with uredospores. Peridial cells: hyaline, clavate, with thick granular walls. |
