Notes (MWS) A stalked barnacle that breeds on submerged and floating structures in the tropics and subtropics. Colonies on floating wood and plastic regularly drift into temperate areas, where they survive but cannot breed. It is commonly washed up on debris on UK shores, especially after storms.
