Invertebrates associated with coarse woody debris in stream and rivers in Britain

Introduces Coarse Woody Debris ("CWD") as an important habitat with its own suite of 146 invertebrate species. Unfortunately river managers frequently remove fallen trees, logs and branches from rivers to reduce the risk of flooding, while forestry removes the dead wood that is the source of future CWD.

The article also discusses the use of pupal exuvial horns to identify Lipsothrix spp.
