Change in the British Flora 1987-2004

Summarises the results from the BSBI's Local Change project where a regular grid of 811 tetrads were recorded in 1987-8 and again in 2003-4.

For natives and long established aliens (archeophytes), 132 spp (18%) had increased, 114 (16) had decreased, 480 (66%) had not significantly changed.

Species of nutrient poor habitats had suffered worst.
