Longitarsus fowleri Allen, 1967 (Teasel Flea Beetle)
| Notes (MWS) |
A yellowish flea beetle that feeds on Teasel, *Dipsacus fullonum*. The adults may be found on the undersides of rosette leaves while the larvae probably feed on the roots.
The repeatedly published accidental association with Breckland Thyme *Thymus serpyllum* is a misinterpretation dating from the broader use of this name in Allen's 1967 paper when he described the species. The record in question was from Ditchling Downs in Sussex - well outside the distribution of Breckland Thyme. |
