Hygrocybe coccinea (Schaeff.) P. Kumm., 1871 (Scarlet Waxcap)

Notes (MWS) A medium-sized waxcap characterised by a lubricous, scarlet (the colour of fresh blood), +/- convex cap, broadly adnate gills and a dry stem. Common and widespread in unfertilised grassland, fixed dunes, lawns and also deciduous woodland and scrub.
