Mycena pura (Pers.) P. Kumm., 1871 (Lilac Bonnet)

Notes (MWS) A small lilac or pink toadstool smelling of radish. The toadstool is quite variable and a number of colour varieties have been described, some of which are often treated as species. It is poisonous containing 'Muscarine', the chemical originally thought to be the poisonous principle in *Amanita muscaria*. The species is very common throughout the British Isles in all types of woodland especially *Fagus* and is occasionally found in grassland.
