Quercus petraea (Mattuschka) Liebl. (Sessile Oak)
| Date: |
22 April 2007 |
| Location: |
Surrey, England |
| State: |
Tree |
| Identification Notes: |
This broad-leafed form is close to Q. petraea, but the leaf bases being wedge-shaped (cuneate) on one side and lobed on the other indicate some introgression from Q robur.
Although this particular tree was by the roadside, there were many similar trees in the adjoining woodland. |
