State: Imperfect stage
Record Summary: on dead, wet, decaying Bogbean rhizome at edge of pond
Associated organism: on dead, wet, decaying rhizome of Menyanthes trifoliata
Identification Notes: Numerous small white mucilaginous lumps with radiating hyaline hyphae.

Radiating hyphae: hyaline, septate, thick-walled (but soft), tapered (12-3µm diam) to smooth pointed tip, growing from central base, embedded in mucilaginous mass of conidia, surrounding hyaline, radiating, thin-walled, branching hyphae terminating in conidiophores.

Conidia of two types: mainly 3-5/2µm, elipsoid, but some larger conidia, 13-14/3µm cylindric on the outside of the spore masses These latter are probably contaminant.

Re-examined the following day: conidia 5-7(12)/1.5-2(2.5)µm.
