| Identification Notes: |
Cap: brown innately fibrillose, thick-fleshed (12.5mm in cap just breaking, 11mm in older cap). Gills: narrowly white-edged. Ring: thick, smooth below, breaking into teeth at margin; slightly striate near stipe, above. Flesh: white, reddening when touched and on cutting. Cap flesh + KOH: no change. Spore print: BFF: "cigar brown"
Basidia: 4-spored. Spores: 7-9/4.5µm, quite mixed in size. Cheilocystidia: clustered, hyaline, clavate cells, up to 35/20µm, not in chains. Cap cuticle: skeins of filamentous hyphae, 3-8µm diam., septate, but hardly exppanded, with brown vacuolar pigment. |
