| Identification Notes: |
Cap: dark brown, innately scaley, splitting towards margin to show white flesh beneath. Ring: membranous, slightly double at first, but soon becoming simple. Stipe: subbulbous to strongly bulbous, slightly shaggy towards base. Flesh: strongly reddening on cutting. Spores: 5.5-6.5/3-3.5µm Cheilocystidia: clavate, abundant, up to 40/18µm, but mostly only 10-13µm diam. |
