Tilia cordata x platyphyllos (T. x vulgaris) Hayne (Lime)
| Date: |
19 June 1999 |
| Location: |
North Wiltshire, England |
| State: |
Plant |
| Identification Notes: |
Trunk with suckers only at the base. Flower buds more advanced than typical T. x vulgaris nearby, 3(-4) flowers per inflorescence. Leaves darker and hairy on both surfaces. This year's twigs thicker and hairy.
The presence of suckers at the base of the trunk indicates some mixed parentage, but the tree was otherwise very close to T. platyphyllos. |
