Epichloë typhina (Pers.) Tul. & C. Tul., 1865 (Choke), Infection - conidial stage

Note egg of Botanophila (Diptera: Anthomyiidae). This fly transmits spermatia between Epichloe mycelia enabling fertilisation and production of the orange perithecia.
