The Young Specialist looks at Molluscs
Despite the title, this is not aimed at children and gives a proper adult presentation suitable for A-level students and above.
Introductory sections cover anatomy, collecting, specimen preparation. The main part consists of a key to families, followed by the treatment of each family consisting of ten-line species descriptions, accompanied by line-drawings with scale lines to denote size range. Dichotomous keys are provided where there are enough species to warrant it. The book covers land snails, slugs, freshwater snails and bivalves. Final chapters include keeping molluscs in captivity and biology.
