An account of the these unfamiliar Crustacea from British seas. The area covered includes the continental shelf within 20 miles of our coast and down to 200m depth. Although we have comparatively few species, they can be found in high numbers, burrowing in sandy or muddy beaches.

Specimen Prep. Preserve in 70% ethanol with 10% glycerol added, or in propylene phenoxytol. Examine and dissect in glycerol. Glycerine jelly is recommended for pemanent microscope preps. Staining with rose Bengal (a.K.A. Acid Red 94, Food Red 95 sodium salt) aids sorting and dissection.
