The relationship between the emrgence of Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis, the international trade in amphibians and introduced amphibian species

Reviews the emergence of this worldwide threat to amphibian diversity (frogs and toads, rather than newts and salamanders) and its spread by the trade in amphibians. The authors make a good case for the introduction of EU and UK legislation requiring testing for this disease when amphibians are imported.
