Molecular Analysis of Gentianella in Britain
An AFLP analysis of 18 British populations of Gentianella germanica, G. campestris, G. amarella, G. anglica and their presumd hybrids. It showed only three species: G. germanica, G. campestris and "G. amarella" (This latter included G. anglica and the hybrids).
AFLP is a robust and reliable technique so it seems that Gentianella isn't as "difficult" as botanists have made it!
